  • What is Shiwani TV?
    Shiwani TV is a service that allows users to access DPRK (North Korean) main TV station (Korean Central Television) and two radio broadcasts (Korean Central Broadcasting and Voice of Korea). All broadcasts are available in full quality from the satellite (KCTV - 1080p, 50 fps, radio channels - 320 kbps).
  • How do you receive broadcasts?
    As of July 1st, 2024, we receive FTA broadcasts through the Express 103 satellite.
  • Where are your servers located?
    Our servers are physically located in Reykjavik, Iceland.
  • Who can use the service?
    Everybody, including users from South Korea, can use the service.
  • What languages are available?
    The service is available in English, Korean, Polish, French, German and Finnish. The content broadcasted on the stations is mainly in Korean (Voice of Korea broadcasts in various foreign languages).
  • How can I access the broadcasts?
    After accessing the user panel, you can either watch the broadcasts live or browse through the broadcasts archive (up to the last 14 days).
  • Can I watch older archived content?
    Yes, if you have an active subscription, you can request to receive a recording of a full broadcast from a certain date through the user panel.

Subscription and Pricing

  • How much does it cost?
    The service is paid for on a monthly or yearly basis. The prices include 9 EUR a month for radio broadcasts or 19 EUR a month including all broadcasts.
  • Do you offer discounts?
    Yes, discounts are available for yearly subscriptions.
  • Do you offer organization subscriptions?
    Yes, we offer organization subscriptions for multiple users. Please contact us for details.
  • Why do I have to pay?
    While we'd love to give access to our service to everyone for free, at the moment we are not able to afford it without financial contribution from users. The cost of satellite equipment, server fees etc. significantly exceed our financial capabilities.

  • How do you handle copyright issues?

  • Is the subscription meant to serve as a broadcasting service from North Korea?
    No, our subscription service is not designed to function as a broadcasting platform originating from North Korea. We adhere to a principled stance of neutrality regarding the content disseminated through our service. Our primary objective is to provide access to North Korean television and radio broadcasts without bias or influence, allowing users to make their own informed decisions about the content they consume.
  • Do you have control over the broadcasted content?
    No, we do not have any power over what is broadcasted on DPRK channels.
